What Worked For Them Might Not Work For You

Published on: 12th June, 2023

There are so many people promising big results. “Just do the work, follow the steps, and you’ll have the same success I have!” But, how often does it actually work? You see these people bragging about how much money they’ve made with their system, people buy in, and then they feel let down when their results don’t match the promise.

There are some ways to ensure you invest in programs that will actually work for you:

  • What is in the offer promise and is that how you want to get your results?
  • Why do some people get those results but others don’t?
  • Is the process in alignment with your authority?

It’s not enough to copy someone else’s strategy. Drop the scripts and use your own creativity and genius to build on the business foundations that will move the needle forward for you.

Carrie Koh:

Do you guys remember all the infomercials before streaming before,

Carrie Koh:

like commercial TV viewing back in the day where like we would have to suffer through

Carrie Koh:

these like 45 minute infomercials and we'd always be sucked in, and I remember.

Carrie Koh:

Do you guys remember the shaker weight infomercial?

Carrie Koh:

Oh my gosh.

Carrie Koh:

It was like this weight that you'd like move really fast back and forth.

Carrie Koh:

You'd hold it with both hands and move it back and forth.

Carrie Koh:

I'm totally making the motion right now and you cannot see me.

Carrie Koh:

But it made this like shaker ray sound, right?

Carrie Koh:

And of course the woman in the infomercial had these like amazing buff arms and there

Carrie Koh:

is nothing I've ever wanted more than to have buff beautifully like long arms,

Carrie Koh:

as if that thing would elongate my arms.

Carrie Koh:

But anyway, so I bought the thing.

Carrie Koh:

I remember buying the thing, or maybe I convinced my mom to buy it.

Carrie Koh:

Somehow we had this thing, and guess what?

Carrie Koh:

Our arms were not buff.

Carrie Koh:

It did not work.

Carrie Koh:

And so I wanna talk about today why some strategies work for some people but not

Carrie Koh:

others, because there is something that is happening in this industry, in this

Carrie Koh:

online entrepreneurial world that is very concerning, and we need to talk truths

Carrie Koh:

about it because, There are so many people out there promising big results, like

Carrie Koh:

big fat numbers, like just do the work.

Carrie Koh:

Just believe, and you will see the results that I have.

Carrie Koh:

And how often is that really true?

Carrie Koh:

The fact of the matter is 1%.

Carrie Koh:

I'm gonna say that again.

Carrie Koh:

1% of people in these huge programs actually get results.

Carrie Koh:

So I think it's important that we talk about why that is, because I

Carrie Koh:

don't want you all to be the 99% of people who aren't getting the

Carrie Koh:

results in my signature program.

Carrie Koh:

By the way, my percentage of people who get results is in the 90%.

Carrie Koh:

Okay?

Carrie Koh:

Because I have created a program that delivers what it promises.

Carrie Koh:

And when we look at what's happening in the industry, there's people

Carrie Koh:

just you rah, rahing over all the money they've made, right?

Carrie Koh:

I've got my 10 K month, 20 K month.

Carrie Koh:

I made a hundred K month.

Carrie Koh:

I hit seven figures, whatever that number is, right?

Carrie Koh:

They're using that number to say and buy my thing, and you

Carrie Koh:

can have these results too.

Carrie Koh:

And so there's this expectation of these big results, and then

Carrie Koh:

it leads to disappointment.

Carrie Koh:

And I've been part of this, right?

Carrie Koh:

I have been part of these big launches that promise the world.

Carrie Koh:

And then when I get in there, maybe I've learned one strategy or one

Carrie Koh:

tactic, but it certainly didn't move the financial needle in my business.

Carrie Koh:

And.

Carrie Koh:

Sure there's part of this that's like, you know, there are people selling things

Carrie Koh:

that they shouldn't, there are people promising things that they shouldn't.

Carrie Koh:

I'll never forget this entrepreneur.

Carrie Koh:

he was pretty new and he blew up within like probably a year and 18 months to

Carrie Koh:

like multimillions and he was, selling an offer that was promising a lot of revenue,

Carrie Koh:

but the problem was inside the offer.

Carrie Koh:

It only gave a small subsection of what he did to gain the revenue that he gained.

Carrie Koh:

And so it was making these big promises.

Carrie Koh:

But when I talked to the people who'd gone through the program, they

Carrie Koh:

hadn't received any more revenue.

Carrie Koh:

Right?

Carrie Koh:

they'd done the work, it was a done for you service.

Carrie Koh:

So they had all the work, but they didn't have the revenue.

Carrie Koh:

Now, why is that?

Carrie Koh:

There's a couple of reasons.

Carrie Koh:

Number one, there are just offers out there that are promising

Carrie Koh:

something that they don't deliver.

Carrie Koh:

Okay?

Carrie Koh:

So that's number one.

Carrie Koh:

Whenever you are investing in something, really understand how the people who

Carrie Koh:

are selling the thing got the result.

Carrie Koh:

And is that what's in their offer and is that how you want to get the results?

Carrie Koh:

Those are two very, very important questions, but furthermore, what is really

Carrie Koh:

important is that we look at why some of us don't get the results that others do,

Carrie Koh:

and sure there is a, bit of like belief.

Carrie Koh:

100%.

Carrie Koh:

If we don't believe that results are possible for us,

Carrie Koh:

we will not get the results.

Carrie Koh:

Like hands down like that is so important if you believe it will happen.

Carrie Koh:

but that's not totally true, right?

Carrie Koh:

It's not just belief.

Carrie Koh:

You can't just like manifest your way by laying on the couch and believing

Carrie Koh:

and then it suddenly happens.

Carrie Koh:

No, we have to take really aligned action.

Carrie Koh:

And not just any action, it has to be revenue producing action, and it has to be

Carrie Koh:

action that is aligned with our authority.

Carrie Koh:

So if we are purchasing things that are someone else's templates, someone else's,

Carrie Koh:

Step by step process to get them a result.

Carrie Koh:

It may, may not be in an alignment with our authority.

Carrie Koh:

It may not feel right for us.

Carrie Koh:

the very first program that I purchased, I spent $10,000.

Carrie Koh:

Um, it was the very first program.

Carrie Koh:

It was not a low ticket program, and it was this step.

Carrie Koh:

teaching that I was going to use and it just didn't feel aligned.

Carrie Koh:

It felt like it took away my authority rather than help boost my authority.

Carrie Koh:

It felt like I was copying someone and that didn't feel good.

Carrie Koh:

It didn't feel in line with my integrity.

Carrie Koh:

And so what I realized is in order for me to get rapid results, I

Carrie Koh:

needed the key business foundations.

Carrie Koh:

Okay?

Carrie Koh:

Like there's just a subset of business foundations that we all need

Carrie Koh:

in our business to create impact.

Carrie Koh:

But then I needed to insert my own authority, my own creativity, into those

Carrie Koh:

strategies in order for them to work.

Carrie Koh:

So it's not enough to just copy someone else's strategy.

Carrie Koh:

it just does not ever work because we're leaving your genius on the table.

Carrie Koh:

We're your creativity on the table when we do that.

Carrie Koh:

And so if you look at your business, If you have an online service-based business,

Carrie Koh:

quite frankly, if you have a product-based business as well and you're trying to

Carrie Koh:

sell your products online, there are some key things that you need to know about.

Carrie Koh:

You need to know how to articulate your authority to become the thought leader, to

Carrie Koh:

become the go-to solution, offer building.

Carrie Koh:

How do you build an offer that is something that your audience desires?

Carrie Koh:

You need to know.

Carrie Koh:

About sales and marketing, and you need to personalize those sales

Carrie Koh:

and marketing strategies to you.

Carrie Koh:

You have to just drop the scripts.

Carrie Koh:

Scripts do not work.

Carrie Koh:

Please, please, please stop using scripts on sales calls like you

Carrie Koh:

will not close using scripts.

Carrie Koh:

Okay, maybe low ticket clients but.

Carrie Koh:

Really, if you want repeatable business, we have to create a personalized

Carrie Koh:

sales and marketing strategy that inserts your genius and you need

Carrie Koh:

to know about audience building.

Carrie Koh:

I remember I bought a launch program early on I bought all the things.

Carrie Koh:

So first I bought a course creation product.

Carrie Koh:

Okay?

Carrie Koh:

So I built this big beautiful course.

Carrie Koh:

Oh my gosh.

Carrie Koh:

It had everything but the kitchen sink.

Carrie Koh:

I priced it at 9 97 because you know, somebody told me

Carrie Koh:

to, and I worked four months.

Carrie Koh:

I got my hair done, makeup done, I got a teleprompter.

Carrie Koh:

I did all of the things.

Carrie Koh:

Okay.

Carrie Koh:

This is a beautiful course.

Carrie Koh:

It still exists today, but guess what?

Carrie Koh:

Nobody bought it.

Carrie Koh:

Why?

Carrie Koh:

Why did no one buy it?

Carrie Koh:

Because I did not have an audience.

Carrie Koh:

I just started Who was I going to launch to?

Carrie Koh:

No one, the ether, like nobody was there.

Carrie Koh:

So, when you look at these things that we buy, the order

Carrie Koh:

in which we buy them matters.

Carrie Koh:

And so was like, okay, this person has, created millions

Carrie Koh:

and of dollars creating courses.

Carrie Koh:

This quote, passive income, fyi, no such thing.

Carrie Koh:

Passive income does not exist.

Carrie Koh:

It is a lie.

Carrie Koh:

Industry tells you.

Carrie Koh:

Okay?

Carrie Koh:

everything.

Carrie Koh:

Requires your active participation.

Carrie Koh:

but this promise of Passive income was there, you know, so I spent

Carrie Koh:

months and then I was like, oh my God, who's gonna buy this thing?

Carrie Koh:

And I then bought a launch program, how to launch from the Launch gurus.

Carrie Koh:

Right.

Carrie Koh:

He was amazing.

Carrie Koh:

And again, I had nobody to launch to.

Carrie Koh:

I didn't have a list.

Carrie Koh:

I didn't have an audience.

Carrie Koh:

I had nothing except for this beautiful course, and I wasted Thousands of dollars,

Carrie Koh:

thousands of hours with no revenue.

Carrie Koh:

This is why I'm so passionate about revenue first, and the way

Carrie Koh:

you make revenue first is you trust your own creative ideas.

Carrie Koh:

You look at the business foundation, every single business needs, and you

Carrie Koh:

build them based on your authority.

Carrie Koh:

And when you do that, you start to trust yourself because you start

Carrie Koh:

to take action that is in alignment with your authority that you know is

Carrie Koh:

building that business foundation.

Carrie Koh:

So it is revenue producing action.

Carrie Koh:

And then you look at what worked, you look at, at what was a complete

Carrie Koh:

flop, and then you refine it.

Carrie Koh:

And then you do it again, and you do it again, and you do it

Carrie Koh:

again and again until it works.

Carrie Koh:

And this is the way that you build revenue You don't follow someone else's cookie

Carrie Koh:

cutter template that worked for them.

Carrie Koh:

We don't know what else they had.

Carrie Koh:

We don't know what other skillsets they brought to the table We do know

Carrie Koh:

that they use their own creativity and genius to create something.

Carrie Koh:

And so this is why inside my client attraction program, I give you those.

Carrie Koh:

foundations.

Carrie Koh:

that you insert your creativity, your authority, so that you make it your own.

Carrie Koh:

single person who has ever closed a client inside my client attraction

Carrie Koh:

program has done it their own way.

Carrie Koh:

They've inserted their own stories, their own genius, their

Carrie Koh:

who they are, and that's how.

Carrie Koh:

You get your strategies to work, not by outsourcing your own authority to

Carrie Koh:

someone else who's made more money to you.

Carrie Koh:

So can you focus on those business foundations?

Carrie Koh:

Where do you need to really step into that competency, that

Carrie Koh:

belief that, willingness to.

Carrie Koh:

do the work consistently, get out there, do those entrepreneurial

Carrie Koh:

actions so that you start to see the progress I want you to feel it.

Carrie Koh:

I want you to literally like look at your body and, say, where do I feel this?

Carrie Koh:

What does this feel like?

Carrie Koh:

Because when you can embody what it feels like when things are

Carrie Koh:

working and you are reflecting and refining when you're improving,

Carrie Koh:

that is what it takes to create.

Carrie Koh:

A sustainable business creates impact.

Carrie Koh:

So just because it worked for them doesn't mean it's gonna work for you.

Carrie Koh:

But trust that there is a that will work for you.

Carrie Koh:

Take what you can from these programs that you're buying and make it your own.

Carrie Koh:

Do what feels good and aligned.
